CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern hits the road for the first time in Big South play with a trip north to Gardner-Webb Friday night and Saturday matinee matchup at Winthrop. CSU opened their conference slate with a 1-1 weekend dropping a five-set match to preseason No. 3 Campbell before claiming a 3-1 win over Hampton Saturday.

In Friday's loss, it was Campbell freshman Sarah Colla that collected 35 kills to lead the Camels over CSU. Those 35 kills pushed her to Big South Freshman of the Week honors.

CSU rebounded nicely Saturday taking advantage of 22 Hampton service errors on their way to a 3-1 win. In the victory, redshirt-freshman outside hitter Madison Malloch continued wreaking havoc at the net with her 12 kills and three blocks.

The Bucs take on a Gardner-Webb team that's hungry for a Big South win before taking on Winthrop, who swept away Big South preseason No. 2 High Point this past weekend.

Both matches will be live streamed on the Big South Network on ESPN+.
