DURHAM, N.C. - Charleston Southern took on a large field this weekend at the Duke Invitational. After a few events were completed Friday morning, weather forced most of the meet's events to be pushed to Saturday. The Bucs adjusted well and still managed to break several of their personal records.

Freshman Rhone' Allen took home personal bests in the 100 (12.09) and 200 (25.03) meters. Lauryn James didn't PR, but her 11.92 time in the 100 was good for 8th place in the event. Meanwhile, Eden Senior narrowly missed her outdoor PR in the 400m with a time of 57.07.
In the hurdles, Caroline Edmondson and Shantel Ardley crossed the line in the 400m hurdles in 1:01.98 and 1:02.91. Both times are within the top 10 of the event and with Edmondson finishing fifth and Ardley 10th. Chaneal Harris finished the 100m hurdles in a personal best 14.48.
Tamara Damjanovic was the only jumper that competed for the Bucs on Saturday. She jumped 10.88m in the triple jump.
Milan Williams threw both the hammer and the shot put on Saturday. Her best shot put was marked at 12.25m and she finished seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.81m.
Makennah Mills topped her personal record in the 3K steeplechase that she set last weekend. Her new PR of 11:22.01 has her ranked fourth all-time in program history in that event. Bethany Thornhill came close to a PR of her own with a time of 11:33.94.
Caroline Inman continued her impressive debut season despite racing in bad weather. She finished with a 17.58.55 5K time that was seventh in the event. Zanelle Willemse ran in the rainy 5K as well and her time of 19:12.06 was just a second off her personal best.
After a weekend off for exams, the Bucs will return to the track on Wednesday, May 1st for the Winthrop Twilight Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
