NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern Women's Tennis Team took time out of their busy schedule on Thursday afternoon and hosted a tennis clinic with elementary kids at the Charleston Bilingual Academy in North Charleston.

The team organized a fun, introductory tennis program for kids from 6-8 years old. "It was a wonderful afternoon and the kids had a blast," remarked Dr. Nathan Johnson, the school's principal.

"We want people in the Charleston community to know that this team, while it looks to excel on the tennis court and in the class room, also focuses on giving back and making a difference in the community," said Head Coach Anca Dumitrescu. "After speaking with Dr. Johnson, the principal at the Bilingual Charleston Academy, I was impressed by their values and the principles that they are instilling in their kids. One of their goals is to teach kids to become world changers. I felt that it was the perfect fit for our team to go and introduce the sport of tennis because tennis is such a wonderful ambassador for making the world a better place."

The Bucs will travel to Radford, VA, next week for the Big South Tennis Championship beginning on Wednesday at noon.
