Paramore and Murray medal on day two of Big South Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Charleston Southern freshman Joshua Paramore and senior Kaishon Murray each medaled to lead the Bucs on day two of the Big South Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. CSU senior Jacob Moore was named to the Big South's All-Academic team following competition.

Paramore and Murray each ran well on day one at Virginia Tech's Rector Fieldhouse, and did so again to pace coach Roosevelt Lofton's squad. Paramore jetted across the finish line in 21.86 seconds to take runner-up honors in the 200-meter dash. The time was .11 seconds that his prelims showing. Murray turned in a strong effort in the 60-meter dash, finishing in third place with a time of 6.88 seconds, just .01 seconds off first-place James House of High Point. Paramore completed the 60 in 6.92 seconds, meanwhile, to earn a fourth place standing.

CSU finished sixth as a team with 35 points. Liberty coasted to the title with 258 points, 110 more than second-place High Point.

Moore capped off a stellar indoor campaign with a 14.75 meter toss in the shot put, a mark .34 seconds better than his seed distance. That throw earned him a sixth-place standing in the 16-competitor field. Moore, a kinesiology major, also earned a nod to the Big South's All-Academic Team.

CSU freshman Dadrekas Hill also competed for the Bucs, and finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.50 seconds. Liberty's Ran Davis took top honors in that event with a finish of 8.26 seconds.

CSU opens its outdoor season on March 17 at the 49er Classic, hosted by UNC Charlotte.
