CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern's men's basketball team continues to churn out top talent that is making significant impacts in the European basketball circuit. Kelvin Martin, Cedrick Bowen, Saah Nimley, and Alhaji Fullah all were featured in the latest report as seen below, with updated information being pushed out as it is.
Kelvin Martin (6'5''-G/F-89, graduated '12) managed to help Virtus Segafredo Bologna in a victory against the fourth-ranked Promitheas (8-6) 98-91 in the Basketball Champions League. He scored only 3 points in 26 minutes. Virtus Segafredo Bologna (10-4) is placed first in group D. Martin's team will play only one more game in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. That game will be critical. It's Martin's first season with the team. This year he averages 6.9ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.0apg, and 2.0spg in nine games he played so far.
Cedrick Bowen (6'6''-F-92, graduated '15). He could not help Siauliai (3-19) to beat P.Zvaigzdes (13-9) in the Lithuanian LKL. Bowen recorded 9 points. But the bottom-ranked Siauliai was defeated 91-76 at home by the higher-ranked P.Zvaigzdes (#5). It was Siauliai's fifth consecutive loss in a row. It's Bowen's first season with the team. This year he averages 7.7ppg and 2.8rpg.
Saah Nimley (5'8''-PG-93, graduated '15), who plays in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) was not able to help Zornotza (12-9) in their last game. Despite his performance, the fifth-placed Zornotza (12-9) lost 73-84 on the road to the higher-ranked (#4) Marin in the West group. Nimley was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 3 steals in 20 minutes. Nimley's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Nimley has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 18.9ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.9apg, and 1.8spg in eight games. Nimley is a naturalized Liberian.
Alhaji Fullah (6'7''-F-89, graduated '14) was not able to secure a victory for Bradford Dragons (6-9) in their game against Derby Trailblazers (10-7) in the British NBL D1 (second division). Fullah scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Bradford Dragons were defeated 104-90 in Derby by the higher-ranked Trailblazers (#4). It was Bradford Dragons' sixth consecutive loss in a row. It's Fullah's first season with the team. This year he averages 6.9ppg and 6.0rpg.
