CHARLESTON, S.C. - In the latest edition of his blog, senior catcher Jack DeLongchamps sits down for an interview with junior outfielder Payton Holdsworth to talk about his journey to Charleston Southern and his recent hot streak in the Buccaneer batting lineup.
Holdsworth is in his first season at Charleston Southern and has been a key to the Buccaneer lineup over the past month batting .275 with 11 RBI's, 13 runs scored and 15 walks. Holdsowrth began his hot streak with a pair of doubles in his first at-bats then carried a 15-game on-base streak in the month of April.
A native of Wakefield, Va., Holdsworth has started 14 games for the Bucs and had a three-hit game versus Radford in the Sunday finale from CSU Ballpark. In front of friends and family, Holdsworth had a season-best three RBI's and two runs scored helping CSU route Longwood 16-3 to take the series finale April 7 in Farmville, Va.
